Plaza del Sol was born in 1968 as a pioneer of the shopping centers in Latin America. At that time the people from Guadalajara came to the center of town to get what they needed, buying in isolated stores; but its founders- a group of twelve businessman-they came to group the establishments into an open, modern and functional space intended solely for this purpose.

Plaza del Sol establish a commercial innovation with no precedent in the country, it was a huge commercial complex where you could buy everything you need.

Now, that distant and only place that was born and grew despite the pessimistic predictions, is the most important commercial center of Guadalajara, a benchmark of all its inhabitants, as well as a site visit almost obligatory for tourists.
