App Store Description

Take the new Brazilian synchrotron light source into your hands and explore the greatest scientific project in Brazil and one of the most advanced of its kind in the world.

This machine functions as a great microscope, which reveals the molecular, atomic and electronic structure of a wide range of materials and allows research in virtually any field, with the potential to solve the major challenges facing Brazil and the world.

The Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) operates the only synchrotron light source in Latin America, inaugurated in 1997 as an open facility to the scientific and industrial communities across Brazil and abroad. LNLS is currently commissioning Sirius.

LNLS is part of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), a non-profit private organization under supervision of the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communication (MCTIC).
