App Store Description

The Patient application offers patients the ability to receive notifications, private messages from clinical staff, and messages from authorized parties on their devices. Notifications can be about patient related care episodes (for example 'a new laboratory result was sent to the clinic'), service related informations (for example, 'A new conversation is available for you.'), or some service alerts ( for example, 'Your account was activated on a new device').

Private messages are sent by clinical staff directly from their clinic's information systems, to inform you of specific status and follow-ups, for example to inform you of the status of your latest laboratory tests. Private messages can include attachments such as the actual laboratory report that was received at the clinic, as well as notes that were entered by the nurse of doctor. Patients can acknowledge having read the notes. Finally, messages of a general nature can be received and sent with the Patient application, for example if you chose to participate in a conversation regarding Diabetes support groups in your area.

The Patient application does not store sensitive medical information on your device. The information will remain in the clinic's electronic medical record system. You can view it many times, and each time it will be fetched for display, and the application will discard it immediately after you viewed the content.
