Dear reader,

I wanted to create this app to help people find happiness in their lives.

We all face struggles, some are small, others can be more painful. It’s part of life, and it’s what makes us grow as a person. During these moments, it can be hard to find positivity and joy in life. Yet, small things that make us happy are all around us, every day.

I remember my grandfather telling me one day when I was a child, that to help me be happy, I should write three positive things of my day, every day. My first reaction was, "something so simple will never work". Yet, I decided to give it a try. The results were not immediate, but after repeating this exercise every day for a period of time, I started naturally noticing positive things around me. It was a great feeling.

After doing some research, I found that this exercise has been scientifically proven to have a positive impact on us psychologically, physically and socially. Research by psychologist Robert Emmons shows that regularly keeping a gratitude journal (i.e. writing brief notes about things we're thankful for) can greatly improve our well-being and life satisfaction.

Always having my phone with me got me thinking that this gratitude exercise would be a great fit in an app.
Instead of keeping a messy paper diary, I can easily add my events during or at the end of the day. You can imagine Posiplace like a structured journal to avoid having the "blank page syndrome".
I also wanted to add some photos and keep track of my activities with some data. This helps me see my consistency and the frequency of my activities, as life is always a question of finding a balance.

I sincerely hope Posiplace will help you feel happier.
