PRZ: Personal Safety

PRZ which stands for your “Personal Red Zone” is the first interactive social media safety app designed to help Change the Culturetm that promotes sexual assault on college campuses and violence in our communities. With PRZ post videos, photos and messages to your PRZ group, and at the same time to your other social media like Facebook and Twitter so that your friends and if you choose, the community can be instantly aware of what’s going on around them through social media. PRZ’s unique features allow you to be an Active Bystander anonymously and to help keep your group safe with features like the PRZ panic button, where you’ll hear what's going on around whomever sends the panic alert to you. PRZ helps keep your community safe with the “What’s Happening Near You” PRZ timeline of ongoing posts from other PRZ users.

So HERE’S HOW YOU PRZ:

It’s simple, first you create your own social safety group by adding as many friends from your contacts as you like. Then send a selfie or a text to let your group know that you’re ok, or that something’s not right and you need their help. You can PRZ some of the friends in your group or everyone in the group.

To be an Active bystander, intervene anonymously and PRZ anyone in your group who needs to know that their behavior could be unsafe for themselves or someone else by sending an anonymous pre-programmed message to “Back Off” or “Stop” or your own anonymous text. Encourage others in your group to join in as Active Bystanders. The idea is for the person who’s being warned anonymously to re-think what they’re about to do.

PRZ your entire group when you hit the PRZ panic button on your lock screen and everyone will get the panic message and they’ll also hear what’s going on around you.

If you're somewhere that could be an unsafe location or event, PRZ the community by posting a video or photo on the “What’s Happening Near You” PRZ timelime or put it on private and send it just to your group.


So HERE’S WHEN YOU PRZ;

Whenever you go out, whether you’re alone or with a friend, PRZ your group to let them know where you are,

When you get back, PRZ your group to let them know you’re in and safe. And if you leave with three friends, make sure you come back with three friends or if not, PRZ them so that everyone knows you’re safe.

When you want to be an Active Bystander, PRZ them with an anonymous warning message---an example would be if you see someone in your group who’s about to do something they’ll regret, like taking advantage of someone who hasn’t said yes or can’t say yes.

When you need immediate help, PRZ your group with the PRZ panic button on the lock screen of your phone.

When there’s an unsafe situation or event in your community or on campus, PRZ other users by posting on the “What’s Happening Near You” PRZ timeline.

So HERE’S WHY YOU PRZ:

To help Change the Culturetm that encourages sexual assault and violence, PRZ lets us all become our sister’s and brother’s keeper by creating a social safety group that looks out for each other and encourages responsible behavior towards one another.

To help Change the Culturetm where everyone agrees that Only Yes Means Yes and make being an Active bystander the norm, rather than the exception

To help keep Change the Culturetm and keep communities safe by posting unsafe situations or events on the PRZ timeline so that everyone will know.
