“Manna From Psyche” is a large-scale (nearly 4 km wide), site-specific, outdoor augmented-reality public art installation by William T. Ayton created specifically for Emerge 2020. Geolocated outside the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, AZ, the installation is viewable through this app, on-site and up to a radius of 100 km. It depicts the asteroid Psyche (based on a 3D model inspired by scientific data) and a 3D digital statue of the goddess Psyche, rotating gracefully, high above the heads of spectators, showering them with the metaphorical fruits of investigating the cosmos.
