There is a flat platform base on which to build the mosaic, to swivel the mosaic from vertical (for a 2D pic) to a tilted horizontal (for a 3D look) tap the background only. There is a palette of texture and color blocks of various shapes to build with. Tap and Hold a palette shape to drag from the palette onto the base to create a building block on the mosaic. The first color shape on the platform will color the entire base instead of leaving a shape. To rotate a shape, tap on it without moving it. To move a shape, tap and hold down on it to drag the shape to its new location. To change a palette color or material tap and hold a palette shape to drag the shape from the palette to the Change Color Block or the Change Material Block. All shapes in that palette selection will get the new color or material both in the palette and those already placed in the mosaic. To remove a shape from the mosaic tap and hold to drag the shape off the platform.

Build a 3D mosaic that pleases your eye and snap a screenshot at any time to go to Photos to save your artwork for posterity. I use this app mostly to create patterned widgets for other puzzle apps, but sometimes just to relax and create images that please my brain. This is an iPad app in landscape mode only and works best with an Apple Pencil, nimble fingers will work too its just not as easy to see your work.
