App Store Description

Qandim is a light control system that is built into your light fixtures. The system is based on Bluetooth Mesh technology that allows all your Qandim enabled light fixtures to form networks that will have wireless two way communications with your iPhone. Users can send commands to the light fixtures and query status of fixtures. Once the app is loaded to the smart phone, users can form networks of up to 24 light fixtures. The app can store and manage multiple networks. Within a network, light fixtures can be organized into up to 5 groups.

For example, the lights in the kitchen can be in one group, the dining room lights can be in another group, etc. Basic control functions are on, off and set brightness levels. User can send command to control a group of fixtures or to a single light fixture.

With the premium "Pro" app, users can program up to 8 preset scenes. Each scene represents a brightness level for up to 8 devices or 1 group of devices. The scenes can be off or on or any of the 19 brightness levels in between. Users then can call up any preset scenes by 1 click. The Pro app will also allow the user to program schedules for scenes.

For example, the user has programmed a “wake-up” scene for lights in the bedroom to turn on at 50% brightness. User can then set a schedule to activate the “wake-up” scene at 6:30 am. In addition users can program 8 scheduled scenes within a one-day cycle. This cycle repeats daily. A good use would be to slowly bring up the lights in the morning and slowly bring down the lights at night to help with circadian cycle, or just leave 1 light on a lowest level to be the night light. Adding schedules will also help deter burglars when users are away from home for extended period of time.

The system is good also good for businesses to help change the light level depending on the time of day to make use of sunlight or in according to food service schedules in a restaurant.

The app allows for one Master User who can set the names and groups, scenes and schedules. The app also allows for multiple Guest Users perform basic functions such as turning light on/off or setting levels, recall scenes and disable schedules.

This system can be commissioned in a few easy steps. The user sets the password for the network. Because it uses Bluetooth technology, it does not rely on the internet or WiFi to operate this system, so there is no worry about internet hacking or intrusions.
