App Store Description
qmeta.net is a metasearch engine designed since the beginning of 2015 and published on August 11, 2017. It is oriented towards a modern and minimalist design without disturbing elements or advertisements. In addition to a high degree of user-friendliness, the main focus is on the anonymity and data protection of the users.
Currently, qmeta.net uses the Google index as the basis for displaying the search results. An additional own indexing is under development. Like classic search engines, qmeta.net divides the search results into the categories images, videos, shopping and news. In addition, there is a category Maps(Beta), in which routes can be planned.
The team behind qmeta.net consists of a mixture of volunteers from different fields and industries who all share the desire to create an equally qualitative but harmless alternative to the "big ones". In addition, a helpdesk will be set up, which will closely link users with the further development of qmeta.net in the form of a community.
Through the mixture of community and versatile team, a multidimensional view is to be created, which advances development through many different perspectives and constantly creates new impulses and incentives.
qmeta.net advertises with strict data protection regulations and the additional data protection laws valid in Germany, such as the DSGVO. Since the servers are located in Germany, data protection is also legally closely bound to the high standards of Germany, which additionally offers the user legal security. qmeta.net generally does not collect and store any data. Neither user-specific nor personal data. Essentially important information and cookies, which are indispensable for functionality and safety measures, are an exception. In special applications, fractions of the metadata, such as the IP address, must be forwarded to third parties. This is unavoidable for perfect function and is also reduced to the minimum to guarantee functionality. No permanent browser file is created and all cookies and information are deleted immediately after leaving the site. For this reason, qmeta.net does not provide personalised search results, which means that the results are the same for all users.
