App Store Description

Over 150 great very short stories.

**Chosen by Sunday Times App 500 World's best apps as one of the ten top book apps**

The Guardian
'This is a nifty idea.'

The Literary Platform
'The stories all pack a punch beyond their 300 word limit.'

Scott Pack
'Well worth checking out - 4/5 stars!'

Educreator
'New and exciting...not only is this good for reading it is also a great resource for creative writers.'

The Quick Fictions app brings together a rich variety of bite-size stories to read on the bus, in the subway/tube or while the kettle boils. Each story delivers a lasting impression, packing a punch beyond its 300 word limit. These innovative pieces come from some of the most exciting writers at work today.

Swipe the screen slowly and you can carefully read through the stories one by one. Give the screen a quick swipe and the stories will whizz by, eventually settling on a random tale. If you develop a fondness for a particular writer, you can save their story as a favourite. And if you know who or what you're looking for you can also find stories by author or title.

Quick Fictions is the brainchild of Professor Nicholas Royle. It grew out of his interest in experimental projects and new kinds of writing. In particular, he wanted to explore the question of how to write - inventively, thoughtfully, memorably - in the age of the short attention span.

Quick Fictions began as a biannual short fiction event held at the University of Sussex. Each night features twenty brand new stories, each fewer than 300 words, read by their authors.

And you can be part of the app too; follow the instructions in the app to submit your story.
