Road Trip - What Lies Ahead?

Welcome to Road Trip, a fun and interactive way to teach students Ages 12+ about intelligent transportation systems and connected and automated vehicles in the United States. As an IOS app, it allows teachers to introduce games and technology into the classroom as part of STEM lessons. The Road Trip App contains the following features.

1. Fully functional Main Menu with links to the Instructions and Options and Starting a New Game.
2. Informative and intuitive Instructions that detail each feature of the game and are accessible during gameplay.
3. Options Menu with legal documentation (EULA, ToS, Privacy, etc.) and another link to Instructions.
4. Player Selection (tap New Game link) with character and vehicle options, which when tapped and held display respective attributes used in gameplay (i.e., side airbags, driver age, fuel tank capacity).
5. Game scene with full gameplay features including:
a. Player interface with resources, fuel tank, and die roll mechanic (these expand and move based on player turn, optimized for 1-4 players).
b. Full game map that can be moved, zoomed in, and zoomed out using swipe, pinch and expand gestures for IOS devices.
c. Settings button (wheel on top right) that opens in-game Instructions or the Main Menu (fully resets game). When returning from in-game instructions, players are returned to where they left off.
6. Win/Lose screens returning player to Main Menu or New Game.

By playing Road Trip, students and others will understand the advantages in purchasing vehicles that have new intelligent transportation features, the fuel and battery capacity of different vehicles, how vehicle features affect driving trips, and how driver age and reaction time affect driving skills. While learning, students will enjoy the peer-to-peer interaction and friendly competition while they embark on their Road Trip across the United States.
