Root - Carbon Neutral Driving

Carbon dioxide is the most significant long-lived greenhouse gas in the Earth's atmosphere and the largest contributor to global warming. With cars, vans & other petrol & diesel powered vehicles being a major source of environmental carbon dioxide, it’s important that we look to neutralise the impact of our driving to slow the progress of global warming.

Root allows you to automatically track the amount of carbon dioxide your driving produces and offset your emissions via UN certified Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects. CDM projects take place in developing countries and are thoroughly vetted to ensure that they meet the environmental goals as stated along with monitoring any sustainable development co-benefits (such as providing jobs, educational benefits, health improvements or economic developments).

Unlike other apps, Root tracks the actual emissions generated by your vehicle according to UK government data and doesn’t rely on generic emissions data that can leave you either paying too much or not offsetting all of your emissions.
