Rugby Risk Management

Affiliated Clubs and Associations within the ARU Insurance Plan now have access to the Gow-Gates Sport iPhone app.

This app includes risk management resources that clubs can complete and store without the burden of having to make paperwork available for ground managers or storing completed documents. The app provides a guide to some of the areas where risks are present that can then be identified and actions proposed to mitigate the impacts of potential incidents or injuries.

Functions available in the app are:

• Match Day Inspection – resource to be completed on match day which notes any risks present on the grounds or surrounds and note any mitigation strategies implemented.

• Safety Audit – a higher level checklist for clubs to undertake in the off-season which can look at the wider risks around the club especially with regards to the safety and maintenance of club property.

Some key benefits on the iPhone app are:

• Club Lists of ARU Clubs pre-loaded.
• GPS locations to pinpoint venues.
• Ability to add Photographs of risks.
• Recording of use – The app automatically saves and reports on the data entered by clubs.
