What sets our forecast apart is two things. One is resolution; two is the freshness. Our 200-m forecasts are 25X more resolved than our competitors 1000-m forecasts (5x5=25 in 2D). Our forecasts see the hills, gaps, sea breeze fronts, and mountains where you sail 25X times better than the leading competitor's forecast. Second is our forecasts are made just-in-time on the morning of your race. Each morning we fire up our supercomputer to bring you the best forecast on the morning of your sail. Forecasts get less accurate over time, so why settle for old forecasts when you can have the best, freshest forecast available?

Our maps colors and barbs/vectors were custom designed to be significant to sailors. Our color maps approximate a boat's polar chart. Under light winds conditions, finding 2 more knots of breeze could allow you to roll your competitors. Whereas, the difference between 12 and 14 knots is marginal in boat speed. In high-wind conditions, you're likely trying to depower your sails, so we've cut the scale off at 21 knots to allow for maximum information in the range that sailors care about (but you can still read the wind barbs in 5-knot increments).

Our wind forecaster and founder, Dr. Mike Dvorak, custom tunes the model to each forecast region. We pull in the best available weather and geographic datasets to initialize and drive the model. Each model configuration undergoes rigorous tuning and validation. We bring our experience from the offshore wind energy industry and atmospheric-turbulence simulation to show you where the advantageous wind shifts are and where the best pressure is.
