The concept of a mobile-based transaction recording system for small businesses emerged in early 2021, and technical development began later that year. Easygo Digital Technology Private Limited is now a fin-tech start-up company that was registeed in March 2022 with the Office of Company Registrar. It is developing "Sajilo Khata" digital recording solutions for small enterprises with the purpose of supporting them in properly handling sales transactions focused on credit sales management.
According to the National Economic Census 2018, 53% (sample size 923,356 business entities) of business entities (registered and unregistered) do not keep accounting/bookkeeping formally and do not have accounting records in Nepal.
Sajilo Khata is a modern mobile app-based record-keeping system that keeps track of financial transactions, such as receivables and cash sales. This is mostly targeted at small businesses who either keep business records manually paper based or do not keep them at all. It is also for those who cannot afford to purchase high-tech software and hardware system to record the business transactions.
The objective of the Sajilo Khata is to help entrepreneurs improve their business performance by providing a mobile-based record system to secure and manage business records as well as business statistics.
Features of Sajilo Khata are; it’s a free app to the users, in the mobile device, the user could effortlessly record cash and credit sales transactions, individual customer "digital khata" accounts could be opened, and individual cash and credit transactions could be recorded, the user can view reports on their mobile device at any time and produce cash and credit sales reports as needed, in the apps, the user might keep a list of clients with their phone numbers and addresses, users could send SMS repayment reminders to consumers, speeding up the repayment process, the data and information of Sajilo Khata are protected by a renowned company's security system, users can access real-time business information at any time and Sajilo Khata can be readily reused in a new phone if the old one is lost, broken, or replaced.
