Sakwe

Sakwe is a peer learning app where users take turns to ask questions to each other and answer the questions in real time. Connect with friends and family members and challenge them in a multitude of subjects. It’s fun! Unlike ordinary quiz apps, Sakwe gives you the freedom to choose the questions to ask to your opponent.

The word “Sakwe” originates from Rwanda. It is used in a traditional play where two people challenge each other, asking questions in form of riddles. One asks a question, and the other thinks about something in real life that solves the riddle. Before asking a question, the person asking has to say “Sakwe Sakwe” to make sure the other person is ready for the question. The other person replies “Soma”, to say they are ready. Then the riddle follows. The players take turns to ask questions.
Sakwe is not just an app for riddles. You can find different subjects from music and entertainment to science, so it is really for anyone. If there is a subject you would like to see and it’s not here yet, there is a section within the app to let us know.
