App Store Description

This app has been designed to guide ambulance clinicians in making hospital destination decisions for patients presenting with:

· Maternity emergencies
· Major trauma
· Vascular emergencies
· Stroke
· Heart attack

Please note that this app has been designed to only be used in the South Central Region, and hospital directions are dependent on the phone being able to establish an accurate location. The calculations cannot account for traffic conditions or adverse weather conditions.

For security reasons the destination pre-alert numbers are locked. Only pre-hospital staff working on behalf of SCAS are able to unlock the pre-alert telephone numbers. The code is available from the SCAS clinical Team via: clinical.team@scas.nhs.uk.

This is an educational aid and is provided for reference only. It does not take in to account the individual circumstances of a patient, and may not contain all the information you require. It is therefore not to be used as the sole basis for management or care of a patient and must be used in conjunction with appropriate professional judgment and ambulance service guidelines, directives and policies. Senior or telephone decision support should be sought in any cases of doubt or where advice on a patients’ management is required.
This app has been generously funded by the South Central Ambulance charity. We are indebted to the development team which includes the staff at gmacsoftware, Els Freshwater, Mark Ainsworth-Smith, Sam Kimber, Dr John Black and all the testing team.
