ScholarsBoat is a new application which connects postgraduate students studying abroad to students in prospective colleges to instantly answers on the ground queries.
Extensive interactions with students resulted in the realization that there is a big gap in perception vs. reality of students when they plan and pursue higher education abroad. International college applicants from depending on paid counselors/advisors and online forums to identify the colleges they want to apply.
We at ScholarsBoat decided to build a solution which empowers applicants to higher education to make informed decisions and solve last-mile problems by providing a platform to engage applicants to students in target colleges.
ScholarsBoat offers the following features:
• An interactive chat platform for answering queries of applicant students (Subscribers) by enrolled students/alumni (Mentors) in destination colleges.
• Subscribers pay based on a prepaid quarterly/annual subscription plan and get a word quota for that period.
• Mentors are paid based on total word counts of answers provided
• Algorithms match applicants to select colleges and mentors
• Students get access to mentors’ profiles to enable a better match
• Students get answers from mentors about any and all questions like food, housing, part-time jobs, social environment, sports and more.
• There is a direct student to student engagement and instant query resolution.
