Take some of the magic of the Secrets of the High Woods exhibition home with you with this app that combines augmented reality, 360 degree panoramas and videos.

The Secrets of the High Woods travelling exhibition combines 360 degree interactive CGI, augmented reality and CGI animation to showcase some of the discoveries from a three year community archaeology project which has combined cutting-edge airborne laser scanning technology with traditional archaeological exploration. This app allows you to allows you to take a part of the exhibition home with you to share with others.

Augmented Reality
Using the exhibition postcards as trigger images this app will allow you to watch the Canadian troops training in Kingley Vale during WWII or watch the WWI airship launching into the sky above Slindon Woods.

360 degree panoramas and videos
Explore the Goosehill Camp Iron Age settlement and see how people went about their daily lives. Follow a medieval deer hunt in East Dean park as the gentry gather by the lodge for a day’s sport and see how the Canadian lumber corps decimated Slindon woods to provide timber for the trenches of WWI.
You can swipe the panoramas to change scene, or watch 360 degree videos streamed via you tube – You will need a wi-fi connection for this.

You can also watch streamed videos showing how LiDAR works and some of the big project discoveries. You can also time travel over a reconstruction of the Trundle to see how it has changed from the Neolithic era right through to WWII.

To stream the videos from you tube it is recommended you have a wi-fi connection.
