SG-Login

SG-Login is the electronic identity (eID) of the Canton of St.Gallen, which enables citizens to access digital services of the canton via a secure login procedure. Further information about the SG-Login can be found at https://www.sg.ch/tools/sg-login

The SG-Login app serves as second factor (Two-Factor Authentification, 2FA) in the login procedure, thereby increasing the protection of the electronic identities against any attempted misuse. Depending on the smartphone model used, the second factor is secured with the fingerprint, FaceID or with a personal PIN.

In order for the SG-Login app to work properly, the following settings are necessary:
- allowed access to the camera for scanning QR codes during the activation of a new electronic identity
- enabled push notifications for the confirmation request during a login
