The project supports a network of vocational training centres including the Nuffield School for the Deaf and Blind in Kaithithady, Jaffna.

The project supports a network of vocational training centres including the Nuffield School for the Deaf and Blind in Kaithithady, Jaffna.
‘Vocational Training in Sri Lanka’ is a project commissioned by German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to improve Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Sector in Sri Lanka through demand-driven cooperative training. The objective of the Vocational training in Sri Lanka (VTSL) project is: Youths from all sections of Sri Lanka's population have increasingly access to demand-based cooperative vocational training. The project’s partner is the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training. The key implementation partner agencies are the Sri Lanka German Training Institute (SLGTI), the Ceylon German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI), the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka and other selected public institutions and, particularly, selected private sector partners (PSPs). The VTSL project is scheduled for a three-year term (July 2019 until June 2022).
