Competitions are not merely based on attempting heavy book on related subjects but need a critical study of the topics in these books. Success in competitions does require the Knowledge of the past trend of questions and the manner of attempting them. Thinking about a problem is not of much use in the Exam, but it is a part and parcel of preparation for Exam. Thinking about a problem paves way for success.
