What is it about?
SkyView is an interactive digital magazine for iPad by the University of Arizona School of Journalism. The magazine is a successor to our inaugural digital publication, Scientific Tucsonan. SkyView explores the wealth of science and nature found in the Santa Catalina Mountains, just north of Tucson, Arizona. The magazine features ten articles packed with stories, interactive photo slideshows, videos and infographics contributed by students in Professor Carol Schwalbe’s Fall 2013 Science Journalism class.

SkyView is an interactive digital magazine for iPad by the University of Arizona School of Journalism. The magazine is a successor to our inaugural digital publication, Scientific Tucsonan. SkyView explores the wealth of science and nature found in the Santa Catalina Mountains, just north of Tucson, Arizona. SkyView examines the controversial decision to reintroduce bighorn sheep to the Catalinas, and spotlights efforts by University of Arizona researchers to understand how climate change is affecting carbon cycles, plant life and a diverse population of insects. The magazine also offers a glimpse at some of the astronomical observations that take place near the mountains’ summit, Mount Lemmon. A user guide is included to help first-time digital readers navigate the magazine.
