This app is a must-have for math teachers, students, and puzzle lovers that features five of the most popular educational games featured on the Visual Math Learning web site. Each of the games is based on a numerical theme and serves as a challenging educational lesson that will exercise and improve one’s math skills. The common “sliding tile” motif makes them ideal for the iPad and iPhone platform.
Sliding Factors presents a 2 dimensional array of randomly numbered tiles that the player may drag vertically or horizontally to capture a neighboring tile whose value is a multiple of the attacking tile.
Capture Board presents a similar array of numbered tiles whose value determines the number of spaces a tile may move in order to capture another tile.
5-Tile Jigsaw creates a geometric puzzle whose pieces consist of numbered tiles in varying shapes that the player must reassemble in the manner of a traditional jigsaw puzzle.
Scrambler presents a tile array that is initially numbered consecutively. Each row and column may be separately shifted horizontally and vertically so as to scramble/unscramble the initial ordered arrangement. The object is to shift the rows and columns in order to restore the original numbered tile positions.
Add Cross sets a grid of empty cells that must be filled with numbered tiles. Each cell is given an unknown number that is hidden from view. To solve the hidden numbers, the sum of their values for each row, column, and diagonal, are shown at the left side and top of the table. The object of the puzzle is to use the row and column totals to predict the cell values and drag a correctly numbered tile into that cell.
Each puzzle offers a range of learning-levels that vary from most easy to highly challenging that will be appropriate to students in all levels of skill. For any game, the player may begin at the entry level to become acquainted, then proceed to higher levels as he or she gains practice and experience.
