SMARTassist - ImmigrationSMART

The SMARTassist Mobile iPhone App is an integral part of the Newland Chase ImmigrationSMART platform, a unique offering for Global organizations that have employees travelling and working internationally and want to ensure compliance with all government regulations for the countries that the employees are travelling to or intending to visit in the future. The Newland Chase ImmigrationSMART platform includes a website portal and an IPhone App that delivers real time updates and alerts. ImmigrationSMART provides compliance, assurance and knowledge to both global mobility teams and employees.

The ImmigrationSMART website portal offers following functionality:
• Customized Employee Travel Assessment Online Tool
o Each employee can submit their plan of travel and receive a personalized travel assessment based on the employee’s profile data and past travel history.

• Real Time Alerts
o Alerts and warnings are provided to the Human Resources team and to the employees based on the employee’s documents, travel schedule and current location.


The SMARTassist Mobile iPhone App includes the following features:

o Real time alerts and warnings are provided on the iPhone to ensure the employee is aware of any potential travel compliance issue.
o Automatic updates to travel history
o The employee’s iPhone will automatically download and store all of the employee’s international travel history.
o Real Time Travel Approvals
o The employee will have visibility to see real time travel approvals minimizing any potential schedule delays.

In order to start using the App, each employee will require a username and password. The log in credentials will be provided to employees by their Human resources team.

The Smartassist Mobile iPhone App by Newland Chase uses the iPhone’s Geo Location feature to automatically update the employee’s international travel schedule so that both the Human Resources team and the employee receive real time up to date and relevant travel alerts.

Note: ** Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. **

The Smartassist Mobile iPhone App includes the following features

Customized Employee Dashboard
o The employee dashboard is personalized for that employee’s specific travel schedule and displays all critical alerts at the top of the iPhone screen followed by travel details such as travel warnings, past travel history, approved upcoming travel schedules, employee visas, and the employee’s profile information.

Real Time Travel Warnings
o Each employee will receive personalized travel warnings based on their travel schedules. These are notifications for which the employee has ample time to take action. Examples include a 30 day stay limit warning or a 12 month warning for passport expiry.

Employee Visas
o The employee visa section of the App displays all of the employee’s travel visas and documents other than their passports.

Approved Upcoming Travel
o In the approved upcoming travel section, the employee can view their approved upcoming travel and also their past travel. In this section, the employee will have access to all of the International trips that have been reviewed by a Newland Chase immigration specialist and approved for employee travel. The approved upcoming travel section includes trip details such as the travel dates and the purpose of the each trip.

Past Travel
o In the past travel section, the employee can toggle between approved upcoming travel and all previous travel. In this section, the employee sees all of their previous International trips. Each previous trip entry provides the employee with an entry date, exit date and the purpose of the trip.

Account Information
o The account information section includes the employee’s personal profile information.
