The spaced retrieval therapy is a method used for helping people with cognitive impairments to memorize new information or behaviors thanks to the preserved abilities in implicit memory.
It is based on repetitions and correct recalls of information or behavior by the person at time intervals of increasing length (e.g. 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 4 minutes ...).
The effectiveness of this method has been observed in patients with Alzheimer's Disease, vascular and mixed dementia, dementia associated with Parkinson's Disease or Dementia with Lewy Bodies.
This application is a personalized tool to help clinicians and students to use the intervals and record the results in the spaced retrieval training.
NB: It is important to adapt the method to the needs and the disabilities of the person (name, move in her environment, using a calendar ...).
This tool should be used only by persons trained in this method and not directly by people with memory impairments.
