Experience Counts:
Your Spar Partner gets better with experience. It literally "remembers" at what location hits were made using a particular sword form. You will get better yourself by remembering what each of the 18 sword forms does. If your Spar Partner seems to be falling behind, go to "Practice" mode or "Balloon Clear" mode to help your Spar Partner gain experience faster. If you are falling behind, well that is up to you!

Spar Partner Katan is lots of fun, but easy to learn. Pick it up and play for a few moments when you are in the mood, that is what "idle" games are for!

More details:
Each sword form is a unique animation. Points are scored when a katana or a foot collides with a hit box. Hit boxes are located at head, shoulder and torso. Balloons have their own hit box located at the same elevation as the robot hit boxes. The katana follows the animation and must contact a hit box to score a point. Katana movement is precise, so direction and range count. There is no magical my-stats-are-better so I win. Your robot has to actually hit the target to score.

Because each katana "form" is unique, it tends to beat some forms but loses to others. Think rock-paper-scissors on steroids. Learn what works, and doesn't work, by controlling both robots in "Practice" mode. Learn where hit boxes are located and where a form does damage by doing a "Balloon Clear". In these two learning modes you control both robots.

When you know what your are doing, or before, complete a "Balloon Race" against your Spar Partner. When you really know what your are doing, or before, complete a Match against your Spar Partner. Scores are kept automatically. Practice mode and Balloon Clear can go for unlimited rounds. Match and Balloon Race each last for nine rounds and a winner is declared.

In addition, you set the color and name of both your Spar Partner and the robot you operate. Colors can be tailored to your taste from a table. You can even make unique colors by entering a hex code.

Lots of choices and lots of fun! Choose well!!
