1996 formierte sich die Jugendabteilung der Sportfreunde Altenbochum neu.
Mit Hilfe einiger Eltern wurde die hervorragende Arbeit der Betreuer unterstützt,
und es entwickelten sich, auch über den Spielbetrieb hinaus, einige Aktivitäten.
2000 wurden die Sportfreunde Altenbochum für ihr Engagement mit dem
DFB-Jugend-Förderpreis ausgezeichnet.
Wir sehen in einer funktionierenden Jugendarbeit das Fundament für die Zukunft.
