SPRFMO

This application will allow to have detailed information about South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (OROP-PS). The SPRFMO is an intergovernmental organization, it is established in November 2009 through the adoption of the Convention for the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fisheries Resources of the South Pacific Ocean, the Treaty establishing the Organisation, which entered into force in August of 2012.

The objective of the SPRFMO is to ensure the long-term conservation and sustainable use of fisheries resources and to safeguard the marine ecosystems in which these resources inhabit, through the application of the precautionary approach and the ecosystem approach in fisheries management.

The 6th Meeting of the SPRFMO Commission from January 30 to February 3rd, preceded by the 6th Compliance and Technical Committee 26-28 January 2018, will be held in Lima, Peru.
