This app is designed to help you easily access useful information on how to use the Starling system to perform haemodynamic monitoring. It provides an overview of dynamic assessment and fluid management and explains how the Starling system works.
Using videos and step-by-step instructions, the app guides you through the procedure for using the system to determine a patient's fluid responsiveness — placing sensors on the body, performing a fluid challenge via passive leg raise or administration of a fluid bolus, reading the screens on the Starling monitor and interpreting Starling results — and features an example protocol for ascertaining fluid responsiveness to guide treatment decisions. Also included are suggestions on addressing technical issues.
The “Learn More” section provides additional support and resources for ongoing education:
- Clinical evidence validating the effectiveness of Starling technology and demonstrating the improvement of patient outcomes
- Review of haemodynamic basics
- Haemodynamics glossary
Think of this app as a way to familiarise yourself with the Starling Fluid Management Monitoring System and help you use it to its best advantage. Because the Starling system is completely non-invasive and provides central flow measurements, you can measure your patient's fluid responsiveness without resorting to invasive procedures to support you in making treatment decisions for patients.
SV Starling Monitor — Non-invasive haemodynamic monitoring system. Intended purpose: The Starling SV system, with NIBP and SpO2 functionality, is intended for professional use in healthcare facilities. It is a portable non-invasive haemodynamic cardiac output monitor. It monitors and displays a patient's cardiac output (CO) in I/min with a non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) function that non-invasively measures and displays blood pressure (diastolic, systolic and mean) and heart rate, and an SpO2 function that non-invasively measures and displays blood oxygen saturation (SpO2). The device displays the corresponding haemodynamic parameters based on measurements or measurement calculations already incorporated in the Starling SV.
Class IIa device. Notified body: MEDCERT - Germany (CE 0482). Please refer to the instructions for use for information necessary for proper use. Carefully read the instructions in the package insert.
