Steerr

Steerr is a ride sharing app that lets you test drive other people's cars or share the ride as a passenger. You can also organize meetings and ask the community.

Default ride type is "Passenger ride" where hosts drive their own car while the guest joins them as a passenger. In a - optional - "Co-drive", hosts let the guest drive while they sit next to him/her. Thirdly, "Ride swap" allows members drive each other's cars.

Pickup & drop-off: If the hosts offer this service, they pick the guest up from his/her address and drop back. Otherwise, the guest visits the host's address to take the ride.

+1 passenger: If enabled, guests can bring a friend to join the passenger ride with them.

Long ride discount: If enabled, any ride longer than 1 hour will be discounted by a certain percentage determined by the host.

Users may sign up with their email or sign in via Google, and can browse all the content. To use the features, there is a verification process where Steerr collects certain data of the user to ensure the security of rides.

To verify their account, book co-drives and list cars, users are required to provide a valid driver's license. If not, a user can still get verified with any other official ID, but will be eligible only to book passenger rides.

Bookings are made on an hourly basis. Guests schedule the ride taking into consideration the host's availability. A host can accept or reject a booking request, and the booking will get expired if the host doesn't respond to the request.

When a booking request is made, the charge is authorized but not captured until the host accepts the request. Either party can cancel a ride anytime; refunds or penalties are determined by Steerr's cancellation policy.

A booking is finalized and the host receives payment when the guest approves the completion of the ride within the next 24 hours, or automatically afterwards. Guests can report a ride if they have experienced an issue, in which case payment will be suspended.

A 10% service fee is charged to the host during payout, and to the guest during checkout.

Currently, Steerr does not provide any insurance coverage. The host's own auto insurance may or may not cover the cost of damages caused by the guest during a co-drive. Please drive safely and responsibly.
