What is it about?

The application uses local WIFI network to connect to audio server provided by event organizers. The server uses ASIO audio multi-channel capture card and offers a number of user labeled audio channels, which can range from individual band instruments, different language translators, main speaker, guest speakers, main mix etc... Upon selecting the desired channel combinations (private mix), the audio will be streamed live to the iPhone/iPad. The user needs to inquire, which of the WIFI Networks available at venue provide this service. The 5G based WIFI provides low latency down to 20ms on iPhones and is suitable for "In Ear Monitoring" applications; for example band members or as an aid to hearing impaired or older persons. The 5G network can handle up to 16 users per typical home router. The audio servers WIFI network does not provide internet connectivity. The 2.4GHz network have a longer range and can handle more users, but latency can be up to 200ms and is not suitable for In Ear Monitoring applications. However the 200ms latency of 2.4GHz is still very suitable for simultaneous translation. The 2.4GHz WIFI, can handle up to 64 users per typical office router. Multiple translation languages can be made available from the server with centrally monitored production quality. This service is provided free of charge on our venues.
