App Store Description

The Swansea City AFC Flag Crew is a group of unpaid volunteers. Since 2019 we have supported the club we love by attending all home games and waving giant flags from the corner tunnels during the pre-match build-up, whenever the Swans score a goal, and at the end of every winning game.

Senior crew members (aged 18+) receive all-access pitch-side access passes provided by the club, and earn credits for each game which can be traded in for club shirts.

NEW FOR 2024. In May 2024 the crew was expanded to include younger crew members (aged 14+) who assist with waving smaller flags along the East touchline (the East Stand Flag Wall) during the pre-match build-up and who then watch the game on seats provided free by the club.

Additional flags and kit for the East Stand Flag Wall is provided on free loan by local Swansea flag brand MrFlag®.

The crew is led and managed by Charles Ashburner of MrFlag®, and authorised by Hayley Ford (Head of Supporter Services at Swansea City AFC) and Rebeca Storer (Head of Safeguarding at Swansea City AFC).

The Swansea Flag Crew app allows potential volunteers to apply to join the crew and, once accepted, sign up for any games they wish to crew at. Once allocated to a crew and accepted for games a user can then view match details including kick-off, arrival and on-duty times. The app collects contact details and dates of birth in order to ensure compliance with Swansea City AFC age restrictions. This information is only visible to crew admins and representatives of the club who may access the app as observers.

All crew members must also complete annual Self Declaration Forms (SDF) provided by Swansea City AFC, and observers from the club can note the existence of current SDF and DBS compliance on crew profiles within the app.
