Taipei Main Station Navigator

With 6 transportation stations and 5 connecting malls (4 underground), the Taipei Main Station (TMS) has long been considered, even by local Taipei residents, an urban labyrinth. Getting lost here is common. Meander no more with the arrival of this indoor way-finding application. Coupling with the aid of Bluetooth (Low energy) signal emitting beacons installed across the 11 stations and malls, this application will help commuters and tourists find their ways to the 3000+ Points of Interests (“POI”, including ticket counters, gates, entrances and exits, stores, restaurants, public facilities, and etc.) located throughout the aforementioned areas.

Combining technologies with the human touch in mind, . . .
• users will be informed with the approximate distance and time to the selected POI;
• before every twist and turn and staircase – either up- or downward direction, onscreen message and vibration will notify users so that nothing is missed;
• accessibility services will help wheelchair users, parents with baby carriages, visitors with large suitcases find their ways to elevators and accessible ramps.
