Thabtheel

Thabtheel is a digital platform for authentic Islamic learning in the South Indian language of Malayalam. Taking into account that reading as a source of information has diminished in popularity with short videos rising to prominence, Thabtheel offers video clips as study materials instead of texts to read. Using the Thabtheel App, anyone can register as a student and have access to the video library. Thabtheel videos are recorded classes by eminent scholars on various aspects of Islam viz. the Qur’an, the Sunnah, creed, jurisprudence, piety and history.

Thabtheel is not a simple collection of Islamic teaching videos that the student can access randomly. On the contrary, it works as a systematic course which ensures the student’s mentored development from the basics to the advanced and ends up in graduation and certification. The videos have a specific order. The student studies each, gives an exam and moves to the next. The process in not mechanical in its entirety. Thabtheel team has a group of manual instructors overseeing and directing the progress of each and every student by keeping deep individual communication live.

Thabtheel App is a project of Jeddah Indian Islahi Centre, a Malayali Islamic activist community in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which works under the auspices of Kerala Nadwatul Mujahideen, a vibrant Islamic movement based in the historic town of Kozhikode on the Malabar coast of India.
