The Buddha Gallery

by Steven Finkelman

What is it about?

The Buddha Gallery is the largest online site in the world containing authentic Buddhist and Hindu sculpture from all Buddhist and Hindu countries cultures, periods, and traditions. There are a small percentage of items that are either not sculptural or Buddhist or Hindu (perhaps 5 to 10 %) that I have picked up along the way, but the focus of the site had always been Buddha images (the majority of the images on the site - approximately 2200). Prices range from under $100 to well over 10 thousand dollars. Most items average between $300 and $800. Most items have been purchased at estate sales, small local auctions, from antique fairs, and online sources. Up through 2005 I travelled extensively in SE Asia, but have not traveled to buy in 12 years now as I find better pieces at better prices that are more likely to be authentic here in the USA. Importantly, I am a practitioner for 35 years now, and a collector for 30. I sell to be able to handle more pieces, and to experience “right livelihood”. I strive for honesty, integrity, right speech, and the golden rule. Please spend time in the “sold” section, as. I’ve tried to create an archive that can be used as a reference. Please share the photos freely. The App is newly designed to make the entire process even more seamless and user friendly. It will also integrate smoothly with the auction platform to be released in March 2017.
