Be it an event or a habit, a call or a message, "today" is a reliable time management tool meant to IMPROVE the user's performance throughout the day.
"today" is meant for busy people, for those using 1-3 apps to manage their time.
FB page (tutorials and app related topics): https://www.facebook.com/todayOrganizer
"today" is:
- a reminder app, that requires user interactions for making calls and sending messages/emails
- an app that needs to always be opened in the background
- using Background Fetch to assure it's optimal performance, without draining the battery or accessing the Internet
- an offline, single device organizer (for now)
- a free organizer, a time management tool
- a tool to manage events, habits, calls to make and messages/emails to send
- trying to improve the user's performance by adding message/email compose features, call remind messages and dynamic repeat rules for habits
- allowing the user to drag horizontally on the screen to change between different available forms, this method proving to be really easy to use. The swipe action was ignored due to the repetitive process involved in changing between multiple forms
- offering generic forms for adding events, with minimal information required
- offering themes to customize it's appearance (soon, custom themes will be added)
- built to help the user always be aware of where he is inside the app, be it in the settings view, looking at the timeline or adding/editing an event
- built based on a fixed model, in which new types of items/events (money, projects, tasks, habit completion, medical) can be added, in future versions, without confusing the user
- an app that never forgets.. it allows the user to reuse any past created events and habits
- capable of showing history entries, to allow the user to check his past schedule
- an app based on a timeline model, which can show the past 1-7 days and future events
- trying is only showing 7 future habit entries, as to not fill the timeline with redundant information
- trying to help the user by providing quick action buttons on every item (event instance) in the timeline
- featuring an auto-scroll option which can help the user to follow his current schedule with ease. Scrolling to the current date and time can be manually triggered by pressing on the app logo, inside de timeline view
- set, by default, to keep all previous events inside the timeline, until the expiration limit has been reached (past limit), even upon deletion. This option can be disabled, to allow permanent deletion of all event instances
Again.. Say NO to clutter, say NO to ADs!
PS:
Existing apps are becoming counter-productive, include complicated sign-in procedures and require tutorials for casual use. Useless information and a lack of true diversity has spread to the majority of the apps currently available. "today" was built by comparing all features available in current to do, calendar, habit and exercise tracking apps currently available. This app tries to eliminate bad concepts, bad UI and bad user experience.
