Tog: Friends > Algorithms

Tog is a new social platform that exists to connect you with those friends with a great taste for movies and TV shows. With Tog, we don’t tell you what to watch next – your friends do. Instead of relying on AI and algorithms, we’re letting the people whose taste you really trust do all the legwork.

• Send/Receive recommendations – seen something you loved? Send it to your friends and make sure they watch something they’ll enjoy
• Request a recommendation – Pick your friends’ brains about what you should watch next. You can even filter your request by choosing one or more genres
• Title page – find relevant information about a specific movie or TV show, such as what your friends thought of it, where to stream it or where to buy/rent it
• Rate any title – if you loved, hated, or felt indifferent about a movie or TV show, make sure you let your friends know! Pro-tip: rate as many titles as you can, and you’ll avoid receiving a recommendation of a title you’ve already watched
• Profile – build top 10 lists, add titles to your Watchlist, see what your friends have recommended to you and see all the titles you’ve rated so far divided into 3 rating playlists
• Feed – any activity from your friends will appear here – ratings, additions to watchlist, top 10 movies and TV shows, and recommendations they’ve received from their friends. A helpful and quick source of things to watch – and a great way to start a conversation, too!
• Discover – search for titles, add other users, and find out what is trending within your network

Don’t waste time browsing your streaming platform home screen.
Don’t trust reviews written by people you don’t really know.
And definitely don’t believe that an algorithm understands what you’re into.

Instead, have your friends tell you what to watch next with Tog.
