Track and share emotional events with Track A Trigger. Research shows simple logging of mood states is effective at lifting depression, reducing angry outbursts, and improving relational behavior and emotional management. Track A Trigger introduces users to patterns of mental activity ("protectors": wishing, self-aggression, aggression, dread, and go-with-the-flow) that are employed by the mind to manage emotional pain that accompanies reminders of neglect, abuse, abandonment, or rejection. Users identify somatic information such as the location of emotional energy in the body as well as thoughts and feelings.
Sharing emotional states through email, text messages, twitter and Facebook support relational resourcing. Analysis of tracked states reveals habits for targeting in therapy and also provides evidence of progress in emotional growth.

Track A Trigger is a practice-proven method for increasing mindfulness of emotion states, increasing self-evaluation habits, increasing the possibility of escaping from habitual responses, and to actually reduce reactivity to triggers and shorten the duration of the triggered state. Track A Trigger improves lives by increasing emotional regulation.

Operation:
Run Track A Trigger when you experience your own reactivity when perceiving a "trigger." You may notice body-based (somatic) reactions or strong emotions or intense thoughts.

Track A Trigger records "events." The event is added to the database when you NAME the event. You can either enter a new name or use an existing name. The date and time are recorded with the event at the moment the event name is entered or selected.

Event data can then be added by swiping through the BODY, PROTECTORS, and EMOTIONS pages. Because the event data is updated when modified using slide bars or the Body panel, there is no "record" button. Data is stored as soon as a slider is moved.

After entering data, you may SHARE the event using applications that are installed on your phone, such as Text Messaging and Email. You can preview your message in the SHARE page, and then send by pressing the SHARE button. Be aware of possible consequences of sharing identifying data such as a NAME that other people might recognize. Emotional data is personal. Generally share with people who care before sharing generally.

Familiarize yourself with the interface and learn more about the PROTECTORS by pressing the information icon (an "i" inside a circle) next to the PROTECTOR name.

With regular use, expect noticeable reductions in the intensity and duration of triggered states.
