Height measurement
1. Distance: Measure the horizontal distance between surveyor and the object by a measuring tape or a rangefinder, and enter to the “Distance” of the App. (In case of your measurement is slope distance, please convert to horizontal distance -> “Adjust Distance”)
2. View angle: See through the highest and the lowest parts of the object, and tap the “Top” or “Bottom” button.
3. Calculation: Tap “Calc” button in oder to obtain the height value.

Diameter measurement
*** Initially, lens factor should be confirmed -> Lens Calibration ***
1. Start: Select “Diameter measurement” from Option menu of Upper right.
2. Distance: Enter the distance data if necessary.
3. Measure: See through the object’s width, and adjust the vertical lines by right side sliding bar.
4. End: Tap “Return” button for returning to the main view.

Other data:
1. Species: Select from species picker. The list is editable by using “Species list edit” of the upper left menu.
2. Notes: Add notes if any, by using “Add notes” of upper right menu.

Other function:
1. Lens factor calibration: Lens factor of width measurement is calibrated by using “Lens factor calibration” from upper left menu. 
(1) Set size and distance known object, 
(2) Enter the distance and the Diameter, 
(3) Adjust the bar location by slider (zoom function is available), 
(4) Apply the new factor value by tapping the “OK” button.

2. Adjust Distance: Horizontal distance will be calibrated from slope distance. 
(1) See through the measurement point, 
(2) Tap “Adjust Distance”, 
(3) Check the view angle and adjusted value, 
(4) Tap “OK” if data is correct.

3. Data record: Measured data together with location and magnetic direction are stored as CSV format. The data file is stored in “This iPhone” - “Trees App” folder.
4. Species List Editor: Species list is editable as you like. 
(1) Tap “Species List Editor”, 
(2) Add new item at the top line, 
(3) delete unnecessary item by flipping, 
(4) Tap “Return” when editing is finished.

5. Data clear: Displayed data will be reset by “Clear Data”
6. Measuring unit change: Imperial (Feet/Inch) or Metric (Meter/Centimeter) can be selected.
