This app is designed to be used in conjunction with existing guide books by finding rivers nearby using the phones location and map functions. It currently links to water level information and webcams and together with location information should help padllers decide where to go.
The main aim in the future will be to include better water level info so you can make the best decisions. Initially this is done by using links to relevant web pages like Rainfall Radar, Environmental Agency, Webcams and other resources. Once you have decided where to paddle you will need to consult one of the excellent 4 guidebooks to get further info on the rivers. 'Put-Ins' and 'Take-Outs' are marked either as I remember them, from friends advice or using search maps and picking sensible bridges for example. Again, use the guide books to ascertain the exact spots and check the access agreements.
The Guidebooks are excellent and can be found on Amazon here:
Scottish White Water
English White Water
Irish White Water
The Welsh Rivers (2nd Edition)
I hope it will make roadtrips that much easier and as I build on the app it will have more and more water level data to help you find the best spots to go to and not waste time and fuel.
