UNICO has the ambition to revolutionize the world of digital collectibles. A collectible is something that you own, love, and that is scarce. But in the physical world, the most valuable collectibles are not just scarce, they are unique! Think about that: you are a fan of a pop-star and own a copy of his latest limited-edition vinyl record. That’s certainly a collectible. Now, suppose you bring the cover of your vinyl to a concert, and you are lucky enough to get your favorite star to write on it: “To my friend John Smith, met at Cincinnati concert on 10/12/2017”. Bingo! Your favorite star has certified himself that you were at his concert and met him in person. Your collectible is now UNIQUE, and you have just increased its value significantly.

At UNICO we aim to bring a similar kind of authentication to digital collectibles and we call it ME, HERE and NOW (MHN) certification. Or, in other words, a Proof of Attendance. MHN certification would add a lot of value to digital collectibles. Why? Look at music fans attending a concert today; they spend more time making videos with their smartphones and trying to get a selfie together with their favorite star, rather than simply watching the events. They want to get their unique digital collectible, something which is different from any other video or picture. A selfie taken together with a star is the new age version of a dedicated autograph.
At UNICO, we asked ourselves can we add a Proof of Attendance mechanism to our digital collectibles. The answer: yes, we can. The way to achieve this is by using our proprietary mobile & proximity platform which leverages different technologies available in most smartphones, including GPS, Bluetooth, NFC and more. If users want to input data themselves, the platform offers them this functionality as well, and they can do it manually or via QR codes.
