What is it about?
The University of Salford attendance monitoring application is a third party developed application which uses GPS technology to enable students to mark their attendance at their timetabled teaching events. Students must be within a 50 metre radius of the designated teaching space for the application to work, preventing ‘remote’ check in attempts to falsify attendance records. Academic Users (e.g lecturers) are also provided the opportunity to verify the attendance of their students at timetabled teaching events on occasions where the student could not, or would not, do so themselves.
