Vibing

Whether you’re grabbing a coffee or hitting the gym, people around you are thinking positive things about you. Vibing lets you hear them.

Using Vibing you can receive a positive thought – a good vibe – from anyone around you, and by the same token, you can send a good vibe to anyone around you (even anonymously, if you like).

Vibing is a positivity movement in an app. Using Vibing to send or receive a good vibe creates a shared moment of connection between you and a stranger, before both of you go your separate ways with new and enlightened perspectives on the day. This creates a ripple effect; positivity breeds positivity.

Every time you send a good vibe out into the world, you will receive good “karma.” The better the good vibe, the more karma you will earn from it! And what is karma spent on? To unlock any incoming good vibes you yourself receive! To earn karma you need to positively contribute to the network. And you spend karma to enjoy that positivity.

How does it work?
1. Profile
To send you a good vibe, someone must recognise you in the app. So all you need is a current photo. You can then reveal as little or as much about yourself as you like in your profile (such as what you are wearing that day or any other distinguishing features), which other users can view when they are browsing good vibe recipients. Your profile also lists your current vibe rating and how many vibes you have sent, which tells other users how much of a positive contribution you have made to the vibing network so far. Your name is public, but your username is private. Only share your username with close friends.

2. Check in
To get vibing, you can make yourself visible to other users by “checking in” at your current location. This will make your profile pic and name visible to others around you. (If you get tired of explicitly checking in, you can activate roaming, which will automatically check you into locations as you go.) You need to be checked in to send or receive good vibes.

3. Send a good vibe
If you see someone you want to send a good vibe to, have a look for them in the list of profile pics of those around you, and click on the picture to select it. (Or, if you like, you can send a good vibe to a friend if you know their private username.) You will then have the option to craft your good vibe, deciding whether you want to send it anonymously or not. As soon as its recipient unlocks the good vibe, you will be awarded karma. Every person you send a good vibe to also has a chance to rate it, which affects your overall vibe rating. The better the rating, the more positivity you are adding to the network, and the greater the privileges you will have in the growing Vibing network in future.

4. Hotspots
There are certain areas – cafes, gyms, bars – where you are more likely to catch some good vibes on any particular day. If you want to see what locations near you are vibing, check out the Hotspots map and go where the good vibes are!

5. Karmastops
As well as viewing hotspots of vibing activity, the map will also show you all currently active “karmastops.” These are locations where a good vibe sent is worth more karma than usual. Any time you send a vibe at a Karmastop, whenever it is unlocked, you might find you earn double or even triple the karma!

6. Vibes
Here, you can see a list of all past good vibes you have sent and caught. This is also where you will have the opportunity to thank someone for the good vibe they sent you (if you wish!). You can also view all messages of gratitude that others have sent back to you, thanking you for the good vibes you have sent.
