App Store Description
VSEPR invaders in an arcade-style shooter app that helps students learn the various molecular geometries as a result of electron repulsion.
First, users learn various different VSEPR configurations. These include:
Linear, Trigonal Planar, Tetrahedral, Trigonal Bipyramidal, and Octahedral.
Next, the user starts the game and has a certain amount of time to shoot as many geometry models as possible.
Each ten-second segment of the game selects a certain molecular geometry and the student must target these models in order to score five points.
If the user shoots the incorrect model during the ten second period, they lose 1 point.
Once, the timer has reached ninety seconds, the game stops and the user's score is reported.
This app provides a fun and interactive experience to help learn molecular geometry in an innovative and new manner.
The free version of the app features games that last 1 to 2 minutes and the In-App purchase provides extended game length from 3 to 8 minutes.
