Vulture - Free Food

Vulture is an app for finding free food on campus.

If you’ve ever joined a Facebook group for free food, the idea is the same: Whenever someone has free food to share, they post it on Vulture. You get a notification on your phone and can view a photo of the food, a description, the location, and comments from other users.

Free food deserves its own dedicated app – It is too important for a mailing list or Facebook group. When free food becomes available, you want to be notified instantly so that you can get there first. You want directions, pictures, and live updates in case the food disappears. Above all, you want to make sure you never miss free food.

Vulture is designed specifically for free food. Our mission is to provide you fast, accurate information about every source of free food on campus. Best of all, the app is free.

SAFETY

Safety is critical to the success of Vulture. We have built in a number of tools to make sure you can use Vulture safely. First, only users with a verified university email address can sign up for Vulture. Nobody outside of your university will be able to see your posts. Second, every post shows the person who created it. It’s up to you to decide whether you trust the poster to provide accurate information about the food and its safety. Finally, Vulture allows you to create private groups, which are joinable by invitation only: You can invite people with a sharing link, and only people who join the group will be able to see posts made in that group.
