Wait Advisor

This app is a tool to collect information on delays that Australian truckies encounter. Queues at ports, warehouses and distribution centres, as well as inefficiencies in the loading and unloading of cargo, result to waiting times which research has shown to impact fitness-to-drive. With this tool, information on delays will be quantified. Subsequently, concrete steps to address the issue can be taken.

Use of the Wait Advisor is quite simple. Drivers who volunteer as informant need to download the app. When a delay is encountered, the app must be activated and turned ON. When the delay no longer exists, the app can be manually turned OFF. Otherwise, it automatically turns OFF when it has detected driving speed.
