App Store Description

Matilda is a mobile tool used to share or create compiled selections (so-called spottings) on a map. You can either administrate your own unique spottings or, as user see customized spottings that others have made directly on your phone. The app is free and very easy to use, regardless of whether you want to use it as a user or as an administrator.

Matilda's field of application is wide. The app can be used to highlight and post information about everything from sights or community functions in a city to service locations at an event, places of nature and culture or why not author cafes in South Africa.

For users:

Each spotting is presented with information with texts and pictures from the places that are marked on the map.

You can easily browse between locations and constantly see your own position relative to them. With a simple click, you can also get directions to the locations.

The spottings can be saved on your phone, which means you do not need to have networks when you use them.

Administrators can choose to present collections in a variety of languages.

In this way, Matilda can be used worldwide as a guide, but it is also possible to get all the information from home.

Do this:

1. Search

Matilda has different search functions to find just the information that interests you. You can search by zooming in on a map and then view all the spottings within that area. You can also click on links in text in Walking Matilda or in e-mail or you can scan a QR code (from, for example, websites, social media and printed matter), and get direct access to a spotting. Often, administrators have multiple spottings, and these are gathered into a special list (so called hub) where you can see just the spottings provided by a particular administrator, regardless of where they are located.

2. Download

If you want, you can save a spotting and it can then be used even when there is no Internet access. Select "save spotting" and it will be saved directly in the app on your phone.

3. Use

You get access to all the spottings anywhere in the world. You can bring them as guides in cities or in nature or you can be at home and study them for future trips and visits. Just browse the map pins to get information and pictures about the different places!

For administrators:

With the Administrator feature, you can create your own spottings with text (in multiple languages) and images that you can share with users across the globe. You can also through links in text lead users between spottings. Using the Smart Scanning feature, you can also reach targeted audiences by promoting the QR code generated automatically when you choose to become a Matilda administrator. This can for example be presented in social media, in print or visible in specific places where you know the target audience moves.

With Matilda you own the information you post. No one can enter and edit or comment on the information you've provided in the app.

All your spottings are saved in a list, a so-called hub, so you easily can overlook them. Also users can see this list of your published spottings. The texts can be translated into several languages if you want to reach a larger audience.

You can decide graphic profile on your administrator page by selecting fonts, colors and background images, for example logos, that may be associated with your particular spottings.

Translations currently supported:

Arabic, Chinese, German, Danish, English, Spanish, Finnish, French, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian and Swedish
