What is it about?

WGA is a graphical representation of particular illness/syndromes trending across NorthShore University HealthSystem in Chicago’s northern suburbs that is updated daily. Users can track syndromes such as strep throat and flu-like illness and see where cases are most prevalent. Based on daily patient data collected across our health care system, a geospatial heat map is generated for each syndrome that corresponds to the fraction of patients presenting that are positive (prevalence) for the syndrome of interest at a particular geographic location. Using historical data, the current prevalence can also be equated to an overall High, Medium, or Low for the entire region
