App Store Description

As part of the Witte Museum’s celebration of San Antonio’s Tricentennial, immerse yourself in the history of San Antonio by using this app as you visit the museum’s exhibit entitled Confluence and Culture: 300 Years of San Antonio History from March 3, 2018 through January 6, 2019.

This augmented reality (AR) app enables exhibit visitors to experience the story of the Battle of the Alamo in six scenes:

Bell Tower Rings Twice
Gather in the Alamo
Red Flag Raised
Day Three Cannon Exchange
Tortuous Days of Battle
The Aftermath

The AR technology works in conjunction with the diorama of the city as it would have been in 1836 which is located in the Kathleen and Curtis Gunn Gallery in the Susan Naylor Center of the Witte Museum. All you need to do is point your device to the diorama’s representation of the Alamo fort and the San Fernando Church to view the six scenes.

Step into history. Listen to the stories from Texan and Mexican perspectives, diverse viewpoints that lend an important voice to the story of the Alamo. Francisco Antonio Ruiz. Juana Alsbury. Susanna Dickinson. William Travis. And more!

Requires an iPhone or iPad device running iOS11.
